The Community Allotment in Fairfield, Buxton, is a wonderful and welcoming space, offering a range of activities and resources that bring people together in nature. The focus on therapeutic gardening and group work provides both physical and mental well-being benefits, creating a supportive environment for people with learning disabilities and the wider local community.​

Community Allotment:
  • Location: Fairfield district, Buxton, Derbyshire

  • Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday – 10:30 am to 3:30 pm

  • Who’s Welcome: Free for anyone with a learning disability or part of the local community (self-referrals and professional referrals welcome)

Facilities:
  • Warm community shed

  • Compostable toilet

  • Sensory garden with plants for sensory stimulation

  • Wildlife reserve pond for pond dipping and frog-watching

  • Wildflower meadows

  • Raised beds and two poly-tunnels for gardening

  • New tool shed and repaired poly-tunnels (thanks to Eurovia)
